What is yattapick

yattapick is a free platform for donating and receiving used items in your city. The concept is simple: the donor posts a listing, interested people send a message, the donor chooses who gets the item and marks it as delivered. No payments, no fees.
Yes, all items listed on yattapick are free and there are no hidden costs.
yattapick is currently available in some pilot cities. We are expanding - coming soon to more cities!

Posting a listing

Log in to your account, go to My Listings and click +. Add a title, description, category, at least one photo, and your area. Your listing will appear on the city homepage.
You can have several active listings at the same time. When you give one away or it expires, you can publish another.
A listing stays online for a limited time after publication. After delivery it stays visible for a while longer, then it's archived.

Receiving an item

Click on a listing that interests you, then click Send a message. Write a message to the donor explaining why you are interested. The donor will read all received messages and choose who gets the item. Note: next to your username, the donor always sees your arrival order {badges} - this will influence their choice.
A request is the message you send to the donor to ask about an item. It stays active while the listing is online. You can send several open requests at the same time: one frees up when the donor marks the listing as delivered, or when the listing expires.
The donor contacts you through the chat to arrange the pickup. There is no automatic booking system: everything is coordinated via private messages.
Yattapick has no shipping: every item is always picked up in person at the location agreed with the donor. The only exception is if you privately arrange another solution - yattapick does not handle, guarantee, or take responsibility for any kind of transport.

Your city

Open Profile from the user menu, tap the City field, search for the new one and save. From then on you see the listings of that city and you can write to people who post in that city.

If you had also set your area, we suggest updating it after you change the city.

The listings you have already published stay in the city where you put them, and conversations you have already opened keep working as before: you can reply after the move too.

If the city you are looking for is not in the list, it is not active yet. We are adding more.

Missed appointments

In the chat with that person you will find “Didn't show up for the appointment?”: report it from there.

The report stays private: the person you report does not know it was you, and nothing appears on their profile. If you change your mind you can always undo it from the same chat.

When many people report the same person, for a while they will not be able to send new requests. It is the simplest way we have to protect those who offer their things and their time.

Account and security

Go to Profile from the side menu and scroll to the Password section. Enter your current password, the new password and confirm it, then click Save at the bottom of the page.
Go to Profile from the side menu, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the red Delete account button. A dialog will open asking for your password as confirmation. Once confirmed, your account and your listings will be removed.
On every listing page you will find a Report link. You can report inappropriate content, spam, or other violations. Our team will review the report.
Only one thing is needed: give permission to your phone. And you must be logged in, because notifications are linked to your account.

Android App (Google Play). The first time you open the app, your phone will ask if you want to receive notifications: tap Allow. If you said no before, it won't ask again: long press the app icon, open App Info, then Notifications, and turn on the switch.

iPhone App (App Store). It works the same way: on first opening, iOS asks for permission, tap Allow. If you said no, go to your phone's Settings, search for yattapick, open Notifications and turn on Allow Notifications.

From browser, without app. Log into your account: after a few seconds, your browser will ask for permission, click Allow. If it doesn't appear, click the lock icon next to the address, then Notifications, then Allow. On iPhone with Safari, you must first add the site to your Home screen.

There's nothing else to turn on within the site: in profile settings you can only mute notifications while using the app.
